From finger painting to sensory bins, we embrace the mess to stimulate all of your child’s senses.
What looks like a lot of mess, fun and laughter has an underlying aim of promoting development and bringing organisation to the sensory systems.
Children learn through tactile experiences in a safe and supportive environment, where messy play is celebrated as a pathway to growth and self-expression.
- Some children find getting messy daunting and intimidating. This is where we’ll grade the play so that textures and experiences are less overwhelming and pitched at the right level for them.
- Messy play emphasises the senses and is often called “sensory play”.
- Messy play incorporates gross motor development as children are balancing, moving and holding their posture while they engage. Messy play targets fine motor skills as children pick up and find small objects, feel different textures, use tools, but most of all really feel with their fingers and hands.
- Children think creatively and scientifically, exploring the way the world works as they develop their cognitive skills.
